Heartland Football Club will try secure its first win in the 2010 CAF Champions League when it confrontc Egypt’s Ismaily in Owerri, Nigeria on Sunday, live on SS9 from 4.55pm.
In the reverse fixture almost a fortnight ago, the Nigerian club capitulated to a Ndubuisi Eze strike, and Samson Siasia’s men must achieve an outright win or miss the chance of reaching the semis.
Chinedu Efugh, captain of Heartland, told SuperSport that the tie, billed for the Dan Anyiam Stadium, is a must-win for his side’s ambition to claim a first African title.
Efugh said the Nigerian side will “show no mercy” to its Egyptian counterpart when the game gets underway. “This is a game that we must win to stay in contention for a title we really want. We don’t have any choice but to attack from the start, without showing any mercy,” Efugh told the World of Champions.
Emmanuel Olowo, Heartland centre-back and vice captain, buttressed his skipper’s comment by calling for an attacking style and an outright win.
The World of Champions will be in Owerri to broadcast live the CAF Champions League and give Nigerians the opportunity to watch as Heartland takes it to its opponent.
