Ogbeide to bolster Sunshine’s striking force

Head coach of Sunshine Stars, Solomon Ogbeide, could be beefing up his squad before the start of the 2010/2011 Premier League campaign.
Ogbeide said he will be looking at the possibility of bringing in two additional strikers to his side ahead of the season since the Akure-based club will be playing in the CAF Confederation Cup next year.
His decision may not be unconnected with the profligacy of Sunshine Stars’ attacking line in its loss to Enyimba in the opening day of the ongoing Super Four competition in Ijebu Ode.
But the former Warri Wolves’ man said he still has a lot of faith in his misfiring attackers in spite of their wastefulness in front of goal against the Peoples Elephant on Wednesday.
“We will be playing in the Confederation Cup next year, and we will be hoping to sign one or two good strikers. Don’t get me wrong here because our current strikers are good but I feel that we need to bring in more players to also help out,” he said.
Substitute Ganiyu Anifowoshe was particularly guilty of failing to hit target when the responsibility fell to his doorstep on more than three occasions during the match against Enyimba.
Ogbeide also said fans of Sunshine Stars should be looking forward to an improved performance from his team when it confronts former Nigerian champion, Kano Pillars.
