Owoeri to join Ismaily January

Heartland Football Club’s attacking winger, John Owoeri, will leave his current employers to team up with Egyptian club, Ismaily, in January 2011.
An Egyptian sports website, FilGoal, has reported that the Nigerian winger has agreed to a three-year contract with the club.
Ismaily chairman, Nassr Aboul-Hassan, disclosed that the 23-year-old pacy striker will join the club next year and did not comment further on details of the deal.
“We reached a three-year contract agreement with Owoeri. He will join us in January,” Aboul-Hassan said.
Ismaily are said to have sealed the deal with the former Enyimba man last month after Heartland defeated them 2 – 1 at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri on August 29 in this year’s edition of the CAF Champions League.
But talks between Ismaily and Owoeri had been opened after the first meeting between both sides in Egypt on August 15 where Owoeri dazzled and impressed Ismaily head coach, Mark Wotte.
This means Owoeri will join up with another Nigerian, Ndubuisi Eze, who scored the winner for Ismaily in the first meeting with Heartland in the 2010 CAF Champions League.
