3SC enter agreement with Liberty Stadium management

By Sampson Eze

In a bid to meet up with Nigeria Premier League (NPL) directive on television-friendly pitches for 2010/2011 Premier League season, the management of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) has entered into an agreement with the management of Liberty Stadium, Ibadan to use the ground for the new season.
The stadium management under the National Sports Commission’s south-west zonal coordinator, Steve Olarinoye, finally approved the use of the stadium for 3SC for the new season campaign billed to start October 23.
Reports gathered confirmed that both the training and playing pitch has been approved and agreements for securities are also reached during the match.
The Oluyole Warriors played half of last season of their home games at the Liberty Stadium before returning to their home ground, Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasigba with a draw against league champions, Enyimba.
It was gathered that the poor standard of the home ground, Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasigba led the NPL to ban the stadium from playing host to league matches.
Premier League newcomers, Crown Football Club of Ogbomosho and Sunshine Stars of Akure are to play their home games at the Ilaro Stadium and Ijebu-Ode International Stadium in Ogun State respectively, while Kwara United and Bukola Babes could play their home matches at the Offa Stadium pending clearance from the NPL.
