Premier League gets Nov 6 date

A new kickoff date of November 6 has been approved for the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) by the board of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The 2010/2011 season has already suffered three postponements, and was due to kick off last weekend.
But that date had to be put off when match officials could not be appointed as there was no NFF Referees Committee constituted to make the appointments.
That issue has now been resolved, with the committee set up, and the NFF has announced that the league will commence in November.
NPL chairman Davidson Owumi has been asked to appear before the NFF along with the aggrieved Rumson Baribote, former chairman of Bayelsa United, in order to seek a peaceful resolution to the dispute between both men arising out of the elections.
