Kaduna United’s playmaker, Sani Aruwa, has experienced a fresh knock on his leg with just few days to the resumption of the second half of the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) season.
Aruwa suffered the knock during Sunday’s mid-season friendly match against city rivals, Ranch Bees.
Kaduna United lost the game by 0 – 1 to Ranch Bees at the Kaduna Township Stadium last weekend.
The former Heartland midfielder has been left out of training sessions of the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) since the beginning of the week.
Aruwa could not return to feature in his side’s second friendly game in the space of four days against Premier League rivals, Niger Tornadoes, on Wednesday evening.
Kaduna United also lost by a lone goal to Niger Tornadoes at the Kaduna Township Stadium.
A gutted Aruwa told Naijaligue.blogspot.com on Thursday morning that he is unhappy with the spate of injuries that have plagued his ambition to play in every game for Kaduna United this season.
“I suffered a small injury on my leg in our friendly match against Ranch Bees. I don’t know why I am suffering injuries this season because I am ready to play for my team in all their games. But now I have to wait again,” said Aruwa.
But Aruwa is hopeful of recovering early enough to play a part in his team’s game in the first leg, third round of the Orange Caf Confederation Cup against Etoile du Sahel Sportive of Tunisia at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Kaduna.
“I want to play against Etoile and I will do all I can to regain fitness after that small injury,” said Aruwa.
Kaduna United will play host to the Tunisians on April 24, before heading to the North African nation in a fortnight.
