Kaduna Utd confident after loss to Setif

Captain of Kaduna United, Emmanuel Bivan, has expressed confidence that the Nigerian club can advance into the group stage of this year’s Orange Caf Confederation Cup in spite of losing the first leg of the round of 16 to Entente Sportive de Setif on Saturday.
Kaduna United lost by 0 – 1 to the Algerian club through a late goal from Abderahmane Hachoud at the Stade du Mai 8 1945.
“Yes we have lost the first leg here in Algeria,” Bivan began in a telephone interview with SuperSport.com on Sunday.
“The margin of the loss is not so much and that gives us confidence that we can overturn this when they come to Nigeria in two weeks.”
But the midfielder acknowledged that a one-goal advantage by the Algerians interprets that the Nigeria FA Cup holders will have no choice other than to attack in order to cancel out that slim lead.
Bivan added that he believes that Entente Sportive de Setif will adopt a counter-attacking style when both sides face each other in a fortnight in Kaduna.
“It will be a difficult game. We won’t think that we will just take the game easily because they have a goal lead now, and we will be the team that would have to play to score and win. At the same time we will need to be careful not to concede at home or else we will find ourselves in a difficult position.
“The Algerians are fast and we will be careful not to get carried away when we attack, as we will also need to defend well,” Bivan told SuperSport.com.
