Quartet makes debut in Team of the Week

Four players have been named in the Team of the Week for Matchday 23 by the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) for the first time this season.
The quartet making its debut in the weekly team is Crown FC goalkeeper, Michael Uweru, Ebinipere Denigo of Ocean Boys, John Adada of Juth and Buhari Musa of Kano Pillars.
Uweru replaced Ayobami Ojo in goal for Crown against Kaduna United and kept the Kaduna attackers at bay to ensure that Crown won by 1 – 0 in Ilaro. He edged Chigozie Agbim of Warri Wolves to this position.
Denigo was named as a centre-back to pair Obioha MacMarcel of Gombe United with Adada slotting in at left-back.
Musa will play at the tip of a triangle midfield in an attacking role with the trio of Abdulrahman Bashir and Otu-Bassey Effiom, both of Bukola Babes and Atanda Sakibu of Sunshine Stars.
The most in-form striker in the league, Kabiru Sanusi of Kwara United will play in attack with Derrick Amadi of Dolphins as his partner.
Festus Allen (pictured) of Bukola Babes made sure that his side got three spots in this week’s team by edging Gbenga Ogunbote of Sunshine Stars for the coach of the week after masterminding the thrashing of 3SC by 4 – 1 at the weekend.

  1. Dolphins.. i had to call Nigeria and find out more info and every one says Dolphins.

  2. Bradly everyone's saying Dolphins because they are leading the league. But there are other teams with quality players too. And Sunshine Stars are breathing down the neck of Dolphins just as Enyimba and Kano Pillars have done well in their last five games.
