Unuanel's men dominate NPL team

Samson Unuanel's Ocean Boys got the most mention of players in the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) Team of the Week for Matchday 34.

The 2006 Nigerian champions for the first time this season got the highest number of appearances in the Team of the Week following their feat of ending Dolphins’ 100 per cent home record in this season’s campaign.

The NPL named three players from Ocean Boys.

3SC and Juth produced two players each while Heartland, Dolphins, Gombe United and Plateau United accounted for a player each in this week's team.

Ocean Boys head coach, Unuanel, is named coach of the week for leading his men to their first away point this season.

Goalkeeper Femi Thomas, centre-back Dengo Ebinipre and Ikechukwu Okemiri, are the three players from Ocean Boys that made the team.

The Under23 fringe keeper, Thomas, edged his Plateau United counterpart, Abayomi Olorunda to the number one position.

Ebinipre is making the team for the second time this season.

Ikechukwu, one of the three Okemiri brothers playing for clubs in the topflight this term, claimed the right side of midfield for his craft on the flanks against Dolphins at the weekend.
