Ocean Boys host Lobi behind closed door

Ocean Boys will face Lobi Stars in a rescheduled Nigeria Premier League (NPL) game on Wednesday.

But the game will be played behind closed door at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa from 4pm Nigerian time.

The game billed to have taken place in July was marred by controversy after Lobi claimed Okey Akabuogu, a player of Ocean Boys allegedly attacked them at their hotel.

The Ocean Boys centre-half was said to have made an appearance at the hotel of Lobi demanding the payment of N700,000 owed him by his former employers.

Akabuogu will not take part in the game, as he is under an indefinite suspension from the Premier League.

However, the game will now go ahead on Wednesday.

In the first meeting this season, Lobi Stars edged Ocean Boys through Chimaobi Nwaogu's solitary strike from the spot on January 23.

Lobi Stars are yet to win in their four visits to Ocean Boys in the top flight.

Dominic Iorfa’s men are also yet to score on the road against Ocean Boys since their first-ever Premier League meeting in June 2006.

In November 2009, Ocean Boys won this corresponding fixture by 1-0.

Lobi go into this game in ninth place on the log while Ocean Boys in 15th are spoiled to win in order to ensure they finish in a safe zone this term.

Prediction: 1 – 0
