Victor Namo has warned that Kano Pillars’ challenge in this season’s Nigeria Premier League (NPL) for the title should not be waved off.
Namo, 22, told SuperSport.com that the chances of Kano Pillars winning a second league title are still “alive.”
“Our chances (of winning the league) are very much alive,” began Namo. “I don’t think anyone should write us off now because we have shown that we can compete with the others.”
The former Mighty Jets striker has netted six times this term and believes that Kano Pillars can close the gap on the leading duo of Sunshine Stars and Dolphins with 64 points in first and second places respectively.
Ladan Bosso’s men are currently in fourth position with 59 points – five behind the leaders, Sunshine Stars.
“There are still four games to play before the end of the season. So we still believe that we can catch up with Sunshine Stars and Dolphins,” the striker said.
Kano Pillars will face Ocean Boys, Niger Tornadoes, Sunshine Stars and Warri Wolves in their last four games of the season.
