3SC trio out of Dolphins tie

Three 3SC key players will not take part in their side's Week 36 game in the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) at Dolphins on Wednesday.

The three players are first-choice goalkeeper Laide Okanlawon, Gbolahan Salami and Chima Akas (pictured).

Salami is part of the Under23 national team preparing for the coming Olympic qualifications billed to hold in Morocco this month.

3SC head coach, Fatai Amoo has opted to leave out Okanlawon and Akas who are a yellow card each away from suspension.

Under23 Eagles' head coach, Austin Eguavoen, did not release Salami to 3SC and Amoo believes his side can face title-chasing Dolphins without their influential forward.

"We have other players in the team that can take their places. But Okanlawon and Akas are just a card each away from suspension, and we don't want to take the huge risk of losing them ahead of our two other games.

"In fact we have been planning for our matches without them. Remember that Gbolahan Salami has been away from our team for a long time. And now he is with the Under23 national team," said 3SC head coach, Amoo.

Amoo said his target remains saving the Oluyole Warriors from relegation starting with the trip to Dolphins.

"My main objective now is to make sure we remain in the Premier League, and we need to show that when we play Dolphins (on Wednesday)," said Amoo.

3SC are in 15th position in the NPL standings with 44 points.
