Midfielder Isiaka Olawale has declared that he will not be with Nigeria Premier League (NPL) side, Kwara United for the 2011/2012 season.
But the 28-year-old midfielder has refused to disclose to SuperSport.com his immediate destination after dropping the hint of his exit from the Afonja Warriors.
The former Lobi Stars’ man explained that he has decided to quit Kwara United in a bid to take up a new challenge and improve his living condition after spending two seasons with the side.
“No doubt I am leaving Kwara United by the grace of God,” began Olawale in an interview with SuperSport.com at the weekend.
“It is not that Kwara United is a bad side or whatever. The truth is that in life there will come a time when you have to make a decision in your life. Such decision is not just because of you alone but will affect the lives of your family too and other people around you.
“I have had two great years with Kwara United. They gave me everything I wanted while with them and it is unfortunate that I could not win anything with them in those years. You know I was born in Ilorin and that is where I also grew up. Now I have to leave so that I can be able to take care of my family better.
“For now, I cannot tell you which club I will be joining. It might be a team within the country or it could also be outside the country. I am keeping my options open for now because anything can change in the next minute and that is why I cannot say that this is the team I will be playing for next season.”
Olawale last season played a key role in Kwara United’s campaign in last season’s NPL in which they ended up in eighth position with 56 points though he missed a chunk of their games due to international engagement with Nigeria’s Super Sand Eagles at the 2011 Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup.
