Sharks' defender, Ousmane Pape Sane, is confident that his partnership with Pierre Coly in the heart of defence can foil Warri Wolves' attempt for a win.
Wolves play hosts to Sharks in a Nigeria Premier League (NPL) match on Wednesday at the Warri City Stadium.
Coly and Sane have formed a strong pair in Sharks' central defence in their last four games in all competitions.
The Senegalese defenders have played together four times so far this term against Kwara United, Gombe United and Akwa United in the league and in the Rivers FA Cup final against Dolphins.
"It is going to be a tough game but we will give them (Warri Wolves) a good fight. And myself with Pierre (Coly) will do our best in central defence," Sane told SuperSport.com.
It is expected that Sharks' first-team coach, Imama Amapakabo, will pick two defenders from Chidiebere Okolie, Fortune Chukwudi and Odinga Odinga to complement Coly and Sane in the back four against Wolves.
In the first meeting this season, the Blue Angels had to fight back from a goal down to secure a point after a 1-1 draw against Warri Wolves.
Sharks have lost all of their last four games at Wolves since 2005 but Sane believes all that can change on Wednesday.
"That (record in Warri) can change when we play them tomorrow (Wednesday). We can win or get a draw there if the conditions are fair enough," Sane concluded.
