Injuries sideline El-Kanemi duo

By Ojeikere Aikhoje

High-flying El-Kanemi Warriors will be without top scorer, Rafael Boumsong (pictured) and Ebube Okpokwu, when they play against ABS in Sunday’s matchday 30 Glo Premier League tie.

Supersport.com learnt that both players were injured during the last encounter against Kaduna United.

The duo have been impressive for the Warriors since their arrival during the Week 9 transfer window and Okpokwu increased his tally against the Kaduna side on matchday.

Boumsong leads the club's goal chart with nine strikes.

In their absence, Ezekiel Thompson, former Golden Eaglet star, Jacob Ngbam and Super Eagles fringe player, Haruna Babalo, will lead the quest for goals on Sunday.

Thompson and Babalo have scored five goals each this term.

“We’ve a team that can deliver at ABS,” Thompson told supersport.com.

Also out of the trip is Chadian international, Hassan Hissien.

El-Kanemi are third on the 20-team log with 47 points.
