Olowo set to quit Sunshine Stars

Naijaligue.blogspot.com can report that big centre-back, Emmanuel Olowo (pictured), is considering leaving Glo Premier League side, Sunshine Stars.

An official of the club informed Naijaligue.blogspot.com on Sunday that the defender left the team's camp in Akure.

Olowo is believed to be considering leaving the Akure Gunners for lack of ambition and a desire to play on the continent.

"Emmanuel Olowo left our camp on Saturday. I think he is considering leaving the club because he feels we are not ambitious enough ahead of the coming season. That was what he told one of his teammates. But we are trying to reach out to him and discuss what might have been.

"We know that a defender of his calibre will not be short of offers as we are still in the transfer window. But we believe he will have a change of mind once discussions are held to calm him that we have plans to return the club to the top again and to the continent.

"I think Emmanuel has a mentality of a winner considering the fact that he came from a club that won the FA (Federation) Cup back-to-back in recent times. So such rush of blood and anticipation to win things are expected," the official told Naijaligue.blogspot.com.

Attempts to talk to Olowo on telephone did not materialise, as he was out of reach before this publication.

The centre half is a target of Nigerian champions, Kano Pillars.

Olowo joined Sunshine Stars as a mid-season signing from former Federation Cup champions, Heartland last term.
