Nigeria Premier League (NPL) side, Gateway Football Club, is angry over report that its head coach, Gbenga Ogunbote, has joined newly-promoted Kwara United last week.
It was reported that Ogunbote decided to move to Ilorin to assist Justin Tenger with his pay package pegged at N2.4 million annually and with a signing-on fee at about N4 million.
But Gateway FC spokesman, Rotimi Oduniyi, debunked the claim saying that Ogunbote is still in charge of the Rock City Boys and even added that the coach handled the last training session of the club on Monday.
“There is no truth that our coach has left us. He still handled our training session today (on Monday),” said Oduniyi.
