Premier League Champion Proposes Salary Increment

After sensing that its ambition of defending its title this season has been blown away, Bayelsa United has proposed an increment in the salaries of its players in a bid to motivate them to battle for a continental place.
As at the time of writing this report, the titleholder was 17 points behind leader, Kano Pillars, before Monday’s game at Gateway Football Club.
But Naijaligue.blogspot.com understands that the move to increase salaries at the troubled side is meant to keep its bulk of players for next season after it emerged that most of them are seeking to join other clubs.
However, there is no definite date on when the planned increment would take off.
