Bees’ Fans Assault Ref, Commissioner

Fans of Kaduna-based club, Ranch Bees, went berserk immediately after its Premier League game against visiting Sunshine Stars of Akure at the Kaduna Township Stadium.
Naijaligue.blogspot.com understands that the centre referee and the match commissioner were allegedly at the receiving end of the fans’ anger after their team failed to beat Sunshine Stars on Wednesday.
Attempts to reach General Manager of Bees, Hon. Abdulaziz Mohammed, did not materialise, as his telephone was switched off at the time of filing in this report.
However, vice chairman of the Premier League, Shehu Gusau, confirmed that trouble broke out at the Kaduna centre and informed that he was told that the match commissioner suffered head injuries from the attack by the mob.
Gusau added that the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) would definitely meet over the incident and would not spare any culprit found guilty in the whole saga.
"I just got a call myself on the incident. It is sad that the match commissioner had his head broken. We will take a decision on it and those that did this will be punished accordingly," he told Naijaligue.blogspot.com on Wednesday night.
