Ex-stars Pledge Support For New NPL Board

The new Nigeria Premier League (NPL) board has continued to receive support of various kinds from football stakeholders in the country.
The latest is coming from ex- footballers who are happy that one of their own, Davidson Owumi, is now the Chairman of the Premier League.
Coach of Unicem Rovers of Calabar, Franklin Howard, noted that it is a good thing that Owumi is in that position expects the new board to do their best.
“I am a happy man because this is what we need to move our football forward. I expect that the new board will improve the fortunes of the game in the country.
“Owumi has paid his dues and the board is made up of calibre people in football and I am ready to contribute my quota to help the new board succeed,” Howard said.
General Manager of Shooting Stars, Mutiu Adepoju, revealed that every right thinking Nigerian will offer their support to the new board because it is the dawn of a new era for the Premier League in the country
“I was at the election and for me, it was free and very fair. But the fact that Davidson Owumi has a crop of other board members who can take our Premier League to another level is good.
“They need our support because the league has all the potentials of getting better than what it is at present,” said Adepoju.
Former Super Eagles’ midfielder, Emeka Ezeugo, said he is prepared to give a helping hand, but advised the new board to shun sycophants.
Harrison Jalla, who is the President of National Association of Nigeria
Footballers (NANF), said the new board will succeed because it is made up of men who are ready to work to change the image of the domestic league in
Nigeria.
“I see a bright future for the Premier League in this country,” Jalla boasted.
