Nigeria preview for Week 16

Two games are off this weekend, as Enyimba and Kano Pillars continue their campaign in the Caf Champions League leaving the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) with eight games for Matchday 16.

Saturday, February 12, 2011
Gombe United v Warri Wolves
This will be the ninth meeting between the two sides since February 2004. In previous eight head-to-head clashes, both sides are even with four wins apiece. But Warri Wolves are yet to pick a point or score on the road against Gombe United. Paul Aigbogun's men now know how to score away and could pick a point in this tie.
Prediction: 1 - 1

Sharks v Kaduna United
The Blue Angels in sixth on the log play host to Kaduna United in fifth in Port Harcourt on Saturday. Kaduna United have not lost in five games but go into this tie with the disadvantage of no points from this same fixture. Last season, Sharks humiliated Kaduna United 5 - 0 on April 24, 2010. Victor Ezeji will be keen to increase his goals in this campaign against Kaduna United.
Prediction: 2 - 0

Plateau United v Crown FC
This is the first-ever meeting between the two teams in the topflight. Both teams share a few things in common so far this season. First, they are both battling relegation and second, they are also yet to win in their last five games. But Plateau United should edge this one considering that they would be playing at their home ground, Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos, for the first time this year.
Prediction: 1 - 0

Sunday, February 13, 2011
Zamfara United v Dolphins
Three previous visits by Dolphins to Zamfara United since 2005 have all ended in defeats. But Stanley Eguma's men will seek to explore the fact that Zamfara are playing in Kano to aim for another away win this term. The league leaders are 15 points above Zamfara United and should pick a point at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
Prediction: 1 - 1

Sunshine Stars v Ocean Boys
Sunshine Stars have won all their home games this season and should add Ocean Boys to their list of those conquered. It will be a daunting task for Ocean Boys in this game, as the likes of Enyimba and Heartland have lost to Sunshine Stars in Ijebu-Ode.
Prediction: 2 - 0

Enugu Rangers v Kwara United
Both teams have identical form guide of just one win each in their last five games. Though the Flying Antelopes may have won this same game last season by 2 - 0, Alphonsus Dike's men are yet to score in 270 minutes of football in the league. But Kwara United should not pose a threat, as they are struggling on the road this term.
Prediction: 1 - 0

3SC v Juth FC
Last weekend, Jos University Teaching Hospital (Juth) Football Club surrendered a two-goal to Bukola Babes in Kaduna to share points. They go to Abeokuta to face Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) who they share same form guide in last five matches with. Both sides have not won a league game in more than a month but 3SC should get back to winning ways after their recent blip at home and away.
Prediction: 2 - 0

Bukola Babes v Lobi Stars
This is the first-ever topflight clash between the two sides. Bukola Babes will want to continue their giant-killing status in order to remain in the top four. They are the only unbeaten side in the last five round of games and will go into this game with a strengthened squad. Lobi Stars have won five games in total but none on the road and that should continue.
Prediction: 2 - 1
