Kaduna
United's leading scorer last term, Buhari Jafar has surprisingly joined
newly-promoted Nigeria Premier League (NPL) side, Bayelsa United.
Jafar
is the second high-profile player to leave Kaduna United within a week.
The
move of the striker from the north to the south of the country came as a shock to
the club's top officials.
"I
can confirm that Buhari Jafar has joined Bayelsa United. It's a surprise move
for us all that he opted to go to Bayelsa United," said one of Kaduna
United officials to Naijaligue.blogspot.com.
"As
much as we want to keep some of our top players for the coming season, it has
proven to be difficult, as we are faced with a bit of financial problem. So we
can't stop any player who wants to leave."
Jafar,
who scored six goals for Kaduna United last term, leaves the club within a week
after Emmanuel Bivan joined Kano Pillars.
