Josiah Maduabuchi (above) has made
a u-turn by returning to six-time Nigerian champions, Enyimba after training
with Enugu Rangers.
supersport.com can report
that the deal to have Maduabuchi sign for Rangers fell through after several
weeks of talks with last season's runners-up.
The Flying Antelopes could
not meet the valuation of the Enyimba captain which included the transfer fee
and personal terms.
"There is no deal
between Josiah Maduabuchi and Rangers. It has to do with money issues as
Rangers couldn't meet the demand of the player. So he's back at Enyimba, but
Rangers are still keen on having him," said an official of the Coal City
club.
Maduabuchi resumed training
on Monday in Aba with his teammates ahead of the 2012/2013 Nigeria Premier
League (NPL) season, supersport.com was informed.
"He trained with us
yesterday (on Monday) as the team resumed for the coming season," said an
official of Enyimba.
Maduabuchi scored four
goals last term while Enyimba finished fourth on the final standings.
